All-time favorite songs (Pt 2)

Now on to the people not named Dylan, Springsteen or Duritz. In no particular order:
  • Rhiannon - Fleetwood Mac
  • Blood on my Shirt - Band of Annuals

  • Come Pick Me Up - Ryan Adams
  • Take it Easy (Love Nothing) - Bright Eyes
  • Hit the Switch - Bright Eyes
  • Fountain of Sorrow - Jackson Browne

  • While You Were Sleeping - Elvis Perkins

  • Losing My Religion - R.E.M
  • I Drove All Night - Cyndi Lauper
  • The Greatest - Cat Power

  • Red Dirt Girl - Emmylou Harris

  • 3 Rounds and a Sound - Blind Pilot (a great live band too)

  • Lived in Bars - Cat Power
  • David's Country - Band of Annuals

  • Landslide - Fleetwood Mac
  • Tempted '94 - Squeeze

  • Leaving New York - R.E.M
  • Unhook the Stars - Cyndi Lauper

  • Elephants - Rachael Yamagata

  • Most of Me - Mandy Moore

  • Looking Forward to Looking Back - Mandy Moore (I'm a big Wild Hope and Amanda Leigh-era Mandy Moore fan. It's the 70s pop sound I really love)

  • Accident - Rachael Yamagata
  • Easy Silence - Dixie Chicks
  • God of Wine - Third Eye Blind

  • The Background - Third Eye Blind
PS: I never pretended that this list makes any sense, either lyrically or musically. It's just a few dozen songs that mean a lot to me for a lot of different reasons.

Once again, I really like your taste in music. And nothing that moves you has to make sense. Like you said, you like these songs because they mean a lot to you. That's all the justification you need.
