I'd never seen donut peaches before. It's odd, because when I told an American friend about that, he said he'd never seen them outside of France. They were sold in every grocery store I've been to in the Portland area. I finally saw some at the Sunday market here and they're called "pêches plates", if I remember correctly.
Asparagus is one of those vegetables I wish I knew how to cook. I find it lovely to look at, delicious to eat, but I've always been hesitant to buy it fresh and cook it. I'm an asparagus virgin. I'm sure it would taste fantastic in risotto if I found a good recipe.
I usually avoid taking photos of fish or meat, because it makes me a little sick to my stomach, but I was oddly attracted to the fish displays at the market, and the excitement of the tourists around me who watched fish getting cut and packaged, or put on display.

Yes, those tiny differences between countries are so fascinating when you travel.
